It was not standard on all vehicles. If your current remote looks the same then this will work. Other options include: Dealer Installed or Aftermarket. The system installed in your vehicle will CHANGE the required remote. If you are unsure ask your local dealer they will need your VIN # (Vehicle Identification Number (located on our vehicle registration car, on your drivers side door jam, or your windshield (lower left drivers side))). It will only sync to a matching system; therefore, you cannot purchase a different type of remote than the remote manufactured with the system. It will not pair with a foreign system. Some vehicles have DIY (do-it-yourself) programming instructions available. While other vehicle’s require diagnostic programming which is available at your local qualified automotive locksmith or dealer. Programming Requirement Information NOTE : The vehicle manufacturer’s determine the programming requirements at the time of manufacture. We pass the programming requirements / instructions on to you as a courtesy. We do not write the programming nor do we determine which vehicle’s require diagnostic programming and which vehicle’s can be programmed by the you (DIY).
